Travel Grants

The Center for Integrated Access Networks (CIAN) awards travel grants for graduate, undergraduate, and post-docs who are attending or presenting research at academic conferences or CIAN events.

Please submit all correspondence concerning the Travel Grant Program to Dr. Meredith K. Kupinski

Submission Deadlines:

  • Applications are continually being reviewed; submissions are accepted at any time.

Travel must be completed within 1 year of the date of application.

Eligibility:

  • A position (President, Vice President, or Treasurer) in CIAN's Student Leadership Council (SLC) at your host university.
  • CIAN students and postdocs are eligible for 1 Travel Grant per year. If it has been 1 year since your last award, please apply again.

Selection Criteria:

Travel Grant evaluators especially appreciate and give due weight to thoughtful, focused student statements. The student statement should be understandable to graduate students from any CIAN Research Thrust.

Range of support:

The committee will award up to $500.00 per student, even though the cost of attending the conference may exceed that amount.

Notification of Awards:

The process of award determination generally takes one month.

Application Format and Submission:

A complete application must include:

  • A brief statement (not to exceed 2 pages) which answers the following three questions: 1) Describe the event/conference you will be attending. 2) How will this benefit your professional development? 3) How does your research project contribute to CIAN's research vision?
  • An anticipated budget
